Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has said that after the cargo carrying capacity of Deendayal Port in Kandla reaches 300 million metric tonnes, it will become a mega terminal port and an important hub of the country in the field of green hydrogen.
Shri Sonowal yesterday launched a host of projects at the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) at Kandla. Shri Sonowal laid the foundation stone of the Green Hydrogen
Excellence Centre at Deendayal Port and inaugurated various projects including a waste recycling plant and a new building of Kendriya Vidyalaya.
On this occasion, he announced the construction of two new projects worth Rs 57 thousand crore at Kandla port. This includes a new mega terminal port outside the bay worth Rs 27 thousand crore and a ship-building project at a cost of Rs 30 thousand crore.
