Karnataka based Udupi Cochin Shipyard Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Ltd, has bagged an order worth 1100 crore rupees from a Norwegian company for the design and construction of eight dry cargo vessels.
Each vessel, with 100 meters length, will have a
deadweight of 6300 metric tonnes. It will be an environment friendly diesel-electric vessel, and will be utlised for the transport of general cargo in the coastal waters of Europe. As per the agreement, the order should be executed within September 2028.
