MacBook Pro Users No Longer Able To Fly With 15-inch Laptops.
Aviation regulator DGCA on Monday stated passengers should no longer carry models of 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops that Apple deemed a safety risk due to overheating batteries. Apple had on June 20 issued a note on its website concerning the risk posed with the aid of the models of the MacBook Pro laptops.
"Apple has decided that, in a limited number of older technology 15-inch MacBook Pro devices, the battery may also overheat and pose a fire protection risk. Affected devices were bought in most cases among September 2015 and February 2017 and product eligibility is
determined through the product serial number," it introduced. The company stated it has voluntarily decided to update affected batteries, free of fee.
DGCA chief Arun Kumar tweeted, "Consequent upon the keep in mind of a restricted quantity of older era 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops by Apple Inc (offered mostly among September 2015 and February 2017) due to fears that their batteries may also overheat and pose a safety threat, DGCA requests all air passengers now not to fly with the affected models either as hand-luggage or checked-in baggage until the battery has been demonstrated/licensed as secure or replaced by means of the manufacturer."
