More than 20 lakh new employees enrolled in ESI Scheme in May

A total of 20.23 lakh new employees have been added to the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme in May this year. As per the provisional payroll data of ESIC, around 24,886 new establishments have been registered and brought under the social security umbrella of the ESIC in the month of May.  

The data also reveals that more jobs have been generated for the youth as out of 



20.23 lakh employees added in May, 9.40 lakh employees up to the age group of 25 years constitute the majority of new registrations.

 

Gender-wise analysis of payroll data indicates that the net enrolment of female members has been 3.96 lakh. The data shows that a total of 71 transgender employees have also got registered under ESI Scheme.
