New Delhi: Government has said that more than 43 crore 34 lakh Permanent Account Numbers have been linked with Aadhaar till January this year. This was stated by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha yesterday. He said, the time-limit for linking all PAN cards with Aadhaar cards is 31st of March, 2022.

Speaking on the difficulties involved, Mr Chaudhary stated that there could be different reasons for difficulties in

linking PAN card with Aadhaar card faced by the taxpayers. He said, these inter alia may be on account of mismatch between PAN and Aadhaar details in respect of information regarding name, date of birth and mobile number for receipt of OTP for linking of PAN.

The Minister said, if the mismatch is on account of Aadhaar Card details, the taxpayer may get the Aadhaar details corrected by concerned authority.
