New MG Astor Launched, Now Priced at Rs 9.98 Lakh

Pune: The British marque MG Motor on Friday launched the new Astor SUV with prices starting at Rs 9.98 lakh at the Delhi showroom.

In a strategic move the automaker has rejigged the Astor SUV’s line-up, with a new entry-level Sprint variant directly competing with the Citroen C3 Aircross in pricing.

With aggressive pricing, MG has enhanced Astor’s appeal with eye catching features fright from the base variant to fend off stiff competition from the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Citroen C5 Aircross, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.

He said keeping to this promise and as a brand celebrating its centenary this year, the Astor 2024 line-up offered a combination of features, design, and great value propositions which delight car buyers.

MG Astor comes with 49 Top End Safety features, and the premium interiors and panoramic sunroof elevate the driving experience to a new level of comfort.

The new MG Astor comes in Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro trims. The SUV gets features like ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and an auto-dimming IRVM.

The Astor also gets over 80 connected features as part of the i-SMART 2.0 suite. These include the JIO Voice Recognition system, enabling voice commands for weather, cricket updates, calculator, clock, date/day information, horoscope, dictionary, news and more. The car also has an anti-theft feature with a digital key functionality.

The MG Astor is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, which includes 14 advanced safety aids that use onboard mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera.

The 2024 MG Astor is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 108 BHP and 144 Nm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual and CVT.

The SUV also comes with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 138 BHP and 220 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
