The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has filed a police complaint against 34 pilots of SpiceJet, Jet Airways, GoAir and IndiGo for allegedly making “obscene remarks” against its officials on Whatsapp.

“DGCA has filed complaint for making obscene remarks against DGCA officials on social media. Any action on that is for the police,” DGCA director general B.S.Bhullar said in a text message on Tuesday.

The complaint has been filed against the pilots belonging to a group on Whatsapp where the alleged

“obscene remarks” were made by a few pilots. “The text of the message was highly objectionable, unpardonable and obscene language was used against family members of DGCA officials,” said a senior DGCA official, on the condition of anonymity.

“The message was circulating on social media and we submitted a screenshot of the text to the police at the Lodhi Road police station. The complaint has been made against all the 34 pilots associated with the Whatsapp group where the communication took place,” said another DGCA official.
