Over 16 lakh new enrollments under ESI in Nov 2024

The government has said that 16 lakh seven thousand new workers have been enrolled under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme in the month of November 2024. As per the provisional payroll data of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) released yesterday, the addition of new employees registered a growth of 0.97 percent compared to the same period during the previous year. 

The data highlighted that over 20,212 new establishments have been brought under the ambit of the ESI Scheme in the month of



November last year, ensuring social security for more workers. The statement highlights that out of the total 16.07 lakh employees added during the month, 7.57 lakh employees, amounting to around 47.11 percent of the total registrations, belong to the age group of up to 25 years. A gender-wise analysis of the payroll data indicates that the net enrollment of female members has been 3.28 lakh, and a total of 44 transgender employees have also registered under the ESI Scheme during the month.
