Over 17.88 lakh new employees added to ESIC in April 2023: Govt

The Labour and Employment Ministry has said that over 17 lakh 88 thousand new employees have been added to the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme in April this year.

As per provisional payroll data released by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, (ESIC) over 30 thousand new establishments have been registered and brought under the ESIC in April 2023. The data also revealed that more



jobs have been generated for the youth of the nation as out of the total employees added in April, eight lakh 37 thousand employees up to the age of 25 years constitute the bulk of new registrations. 

The Ministry said, gender-wise analysis of payroll data indicates that enrolment of net female members has been three lakh 53 thousand in April.
