In Haryana, the procurement of Kharif pulses and oilseeds, including moong, groundnut, arhar, urad, and til, will begin from the 1st of October at over 100 mandis.
The procurement of moong will begin on the 1st of October and will continue till the 15th of November while Groundnut from the 1st of November to the 31st of December. Arhar, urad, and til will be procured from the 1st to the 31st of December.
The procurement will be carried out at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) announced by the Government of India. HAFED will also participate in the procurement process. More than 100 mandis have been set up for the procurement of these crops. Specifically, 38 mandis have been set up
in 16 districts for moong, 22 mandis in 18 districts for arhar, 10 mandis in 7 districts for urad, 7 mandis in 3 districts for groundnut, and 27 mandis in 21 districts for procurement.
The Chief Secretary, Mr Sanjeev Kaushal yesterday reviewed the preparations for the procurement of crops for the 2023-24 marketing season and directed officials to ensure a smooth and hassle-free procurement process for farmers.
Haryana is expecting a production of Kharif crops this year, with an estimated production of 30,412 metric tonnes of moong, 2,784 MT of arhar, 90 MT of urad, 126 MT of til, and 7,711 MT of groundnut.
