Retail inflation for July this year eased to 59 months low of 3.54 per cent on a year-on-year basis. As per the data released yesterday by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the Consumer Price Index for the last month declined mainly due to a fall in prices of vegetables, fruits and spices.
Food inflation for July 2024 was the lowest since June last year. As per the data, last month, food inflation was 5.42 per cent.
Rural inflation for the reported period stood at 4.10 per cent while for urban areas it was 2.98 percent.
