Sales Of Khadi And Village Industries Products Cross Rs 1.55 Lakh Cr In 2023-24

The sales of Khadi and Village Industries products has crossed 1.55 lakh crore rupees for the first time in 2023-24. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, the Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission, (KVIC) Manoj Kumar said in 2013-14 the sales of Khadi products was around 31 thousand crore rupees. He said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, KVIC has set a new record in production, sales, and new employment



generation. 

Mr Kumar said, that khadi has become a new symbol of fashion for the youth. He said, Prime Minister Modi’s Brand Shakti’ has increased people’s confidence in Khadi products. The Chairman said, the main objective of the KVIC is to provide maximum employment opportunities in rural areas. Mr Kumar informed that the cumulative employment was one crore 30 lakh in  2013-14, which has reached to one crore 87 lakh in 2023-24,
