Sensex posted its biggest single day loss

At the stock markets, both the key indices posted its biggest single day losses yesterday; while the rupee depreciated modestly, against the dollar.

The he Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange sank 1,942 points, or 5.2 percent, to end at 35,635. The Nifty crumbled 538 points, to



10,451. 

At the forex market, provisionally, rupee weakened 27 paise, to 74.14 against the dollar.

Gold gained 22 rupees, to 45,063 rupees per ten grams in Delhi.And, Brent crude oil futures fell 9 dollars and 67 cents, or 21 percent, to trade 35.60 dollars a barrel.
