The government has doubled the quantum of monthly increase in domestic LPG cylinder price to Rs 4 with the aim of hastening the end of the subsidy for the widely-used kitchen fuel.The gap with the market price is now just Rs 86.54.
Since June,
state-run fuel retailers have started raising the price of refills by Rs 4 every month to speed up the process of bridging the gap between subsidised and market rates of domestic LPG.Until then, retailers had been raising the price by Rs 2 every month.
