Government has issued a notification regarding minimum stipend payable to trade apprentices.
 
Addressing State Ministers’ Conference on Skill Development in New Delhi, Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mahendra Nath Pandey said that minimum stipend will be on qualification based and range from five thousand to nine thousand rupees per month from now onwards.
 
Dr Pandey said that employers having four



or more workers are eligible to engage apprentices.
 
The minister stressed the need to create a new structure of Kaushal Mitra from the state level to the village level. Dr. Pandey said that skill development is the priority of the Modi government.
 
He appealed to the states to take all possible steps to implement the law related to apprenticeship in companies.
