Agartala: Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman yesterday said Tripura has received the GST collection of 982.50 crore rupees in 2022-23.
 
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the newly constructed GST Bhavan in Agartala, she compared the tax collection of the state before the introduction of GST and post-introduction of GST. She said earlier only 4.21 crore rupees were collected in the from of sales tax collection.
 
Ms. Sitharaman said that with GST coming in more businesses have come into the system.
 
She



said the traders, also small businesses can do filing from the GST office as a facility has been provided to small traders in this GST Bhavan.
 
She also encouraged small businesses to enroll themselves in GST as they are going to be benefitted. She cited that if small businesses are not enrolled then large companies do not want to buy or procure goods or services from non-GST institutions.
 
Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra said that the whole of North East has done well in GST which also includes Tripura.
