Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh has said that the  Central Government has introduced the Vision Next program to provide an impetus to the Textiles Manufacturing Industry. 

In an interaction with the media after the review meeting at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Chennai today, he said that the value of the textile designing Industry in India has grown to 176 billion dollars. The Minister said that in 2030 the Industry will reach 350 billion



dollars.

The Minister said Tamilnadu is an important player in the Textile Industry in India. He said that the Union Government has allocated funds to create a Textile Park in the Virudhunagar district. Noting that presently 4.6 crore people were employed in the Textile Industry, he said that it is expected to grow to six crores in 2030. The Minister said that it was not necessary to look at designers in other countries because there are more distinguished talents in India.
