Facebook-owned WhatsApp recently updated its chatting platform with a new 'Status' feature. WhatsApp users can now add pictures and videos as their Statuses on the chatting app. The feature is similar to Snapchat's 'Stories' feature.
The new update added by WhatsApp received a mixed response. While there were many who thought the addition was exciting and fun, at the same time, many criticised it.
However, it appears like 'Text' statuses are finally
returning on WhatsApp. According to a report published by India Times, WhatsApp is planning on reinforcing the good old text status back very soon.
According to the information provided by the report, the Status tab won't be replaced; instead, the old text-field has entered in the latest beta version of the app.
The WhatsApp beta 2.17.95 apparently consists of the new update. The company hasn't made any official comments on this report yet.
