Two realtors were shot dead by unidentified persons at Ibrahimpatnam in Ranga Reddy district, about 40 km from here, on Tuesday morning. The deceased were identified as N Srinivas Reddy (40), a resident of Almasguda, and Komati Reddy Raghavendra Reddy (40), a resident of BN Reddy Nagar.
The incident occurred at around 8 am when the duo had gone to Karnamguda village in Ibrahimpatnam. While Srinivas Reddy died on the spot, Raghavendra Reddy was shifted to a private hospital where he succumbed to bullet injuries while undergoing treatment.
“They had gone in an SUV to the spot in the morning to check a land parcel they had reportedly taken for developmental activity. After interacting with one Matta Reddy, who owns the land adjoining to the land parcel, the duo started heading towards the
city when they were shot at,” Ibrahimpatnam ACP K Bala Krishna Reddy said.
Srinivas Reddy was shot in the head while Raghavendra Reddy received a bullet injury on the chest. “We suspect that they were fired upon with a countrymade weapon,” the ACP said, adding that on being alerted, it was the police who reached the spot and shifted the injured Raghavendra Reddy to hospital.
“Srinivas Reddy and Raghavendra Reddy regularly visited Ibrahimpatnam and checked the land. Enquiries revealed that they had taken it from one Indra Reddy and others some time ago,” the ACP said, adding that Matta Reddy, along with Raghavendra Reddy’s driver Krishna and his assistant Hafeez were questioned. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat inspected the scene and is supervising the investigation.
