New Delhi : A Malaysian national has been arrested from IGI airport in the national capital for allegedly trying to smuggle gold worth about Rs 67 lakh.
The passenger was intercepted by the customs officials following his arrival from Singapore on Wednesday.
'On detailed examination of his
baggage and personal search, he was found carrying two gold bars weighing one kg each and four gold biscuits of 100 gram each,' a press release issued today by the customs said.
The value of the gold, which was seized, is around Rs 66.92 lakh, it said, adding that the passenger has been arrested.
