New Delhi: In yet another shocking incident from the national capital on Friday, Thak Thak gang members targeted the wife of a sitting MLA. As per the report, the crooks stole around Rs 2 lakh in cash and other valuables on the BRT stretch in southeast Delhi.
During the investigation, police found that the members of the gang targeted the car of Kanika Gupta, wife of Vivek Gupta, former Rajya Sabha MP, and incumbent MLA from the TMC party.
The suspects took away Rs 1.9 lakh in cash, an iPhone, a gold coin, and some documents from the victim.
The report further suggests that was reported around 02:30 pm on
Friday.
In her complaint to the police, Gupta noted that a motorcycle rider pointed out a flat tyre when her car reached the Defence Colony flyover, according to The Times of India report.
After that, the driver got out of the car to check it when another biker pointed out smoke on the car's bonnet.
An FIR has been filed in this case by the complainant.
Further investigation revealed that the crooks threw engine oil on the bonnet which led to smoke from the car. In the meantime, Gupta exited the vehicle. Thak Thak gang member took her bag from the back seat and flee from the spot.
