10 tourists killed in TN bus accident

Ten people, including three women and two children were killed and 18 others injured when the bus they were travelling hit the divider on the road near Valliyur in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu in the wee hours of Friday.

rgb(255, 255, 255);">The bus, carrying tourists was going to Thiruvananthapuram from Velankanni when the accident happened. Preliminary investigations revealed that the bus driver might have dozed off, and it hit the median and overturned.

Tirunelveli district collector M Karunakaran, district superintendent of police V Vikraman and other higher police officers have reached the spot.
