10-year-old girl raped in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A minor girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Chandanagar here on Friday.

The incident occurred around 2 am when the 10-year-old girl was sleeping beside her mother in front of their house after there was a disruption in the power supply.

According to the police, the suspect Shekar (27), a labourer from the neighbourhood took the minor girl into her house and sexually exploited her.

“He gagged her mouth, overpowered her and raped her.



After the ordeal, when she tried to escape from him, he pushed her down leading to injuries on her head,” police said. The girl’s mother and her uncle saw Shekar running out of their house and when they confronted him, he escaped from the spot.

“The girl revealed to her mother what happened, after which they lodged a complaint. A case has been booked and is being investigated. Teams have been formed to nab the absconding suspect,” police said.
