1.2 kg gold seized at Shamshabad airport

Officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday seized gold weighing 1.2 kg from two passengers, including a woman. The suspects had concealed the gold inside their dress and under the feet by wrapping the same with tape.

Officials got suspicious after seeing the male passenger walking in an awkward manner



and on examination, the gold – two gold bracelets and four gold biscuits were found. The woman accompanying the man and was also detained.

The worth of the seized gold is estimated to be Rs 33 lakh, officials said, and added that the two passengers had reached the airport on Tuesday morning on a Jeddah flight.
