A 12-year-old boy, Mohammed Uroojuddin Ahmed of Chandrayangutta, was throttled to death and his body dumped in an open tank by his neighbour.The body was retrieved from the tank on Thursday morning after the local police caught the suspect, identified as Muneer.
The reasons for the murder are yet to emerge.As per the version given by the police, Urooj, who studies at a local madrasa, was picked up by his neighbour Muneer, aged around 25 years, from his Arabic school on Friday and taken to an open land at Mailardevpally. Later, after
playing with the boy for some time, Muneer throttled him and after the child died, the suspect disposed the body in a water tank.
The family members of the boy had pointed out their suspicion on Muneer following which the Chandrayangutta police had questioned him on Saturday and let him off.
However, the local police called up his family members and asked them to bring Muneer to the police station on Wednesday. On questioning, the man admitted to killing the child and throwing his body in a tank.
