14-year-old boy records girls bathing in hostel bathroom; booked

Hyderabad:A 14-year-old student was booked for recording videos of women bathing at a hostel in Madhapur. In a tab (tablet) seized from the accused, police have found over 3,000 videos and photos of women.

On Tuesday, police received a complaint from a 22-year-old student, who stays at a private women’s hostel in Madhapur. The complainant alleged that the 14-year-old boy, who lives in a building adjacent to her hostel, was recording videos of women staying in the hostel while they were taking bath.

The issue came to light when one of the women from the hostel saw the boy recording a video in a tab from his building. Alerted by the women, others from the hostel went to the building and caught the boy red-handed, police said.

The boy was then handed over to police along with the tab



containing multiple videos and photos of women taking bath. “The boy is a class IX student and his house is adjacent to the women’s hostel. From his bathroom window, he could peep into the bathroom of women’s hostel, which is hardly a metre away. The boy started video-recording the women in his tab,” ACP, Madhapur, N Shyam Prasad Rao, said.

Police said there were over 3,000 videos and photos in the tab seized from the juvenile. “We have sent the tab to forensic lab for collection of evidence and to see if the videos or photos have been shared with anyone. A case was booked under Section 354-C (voyeurism) of the IPC,” DCP, Madhapur, A Venkateswara Rao, said.

Police said that the teenager in conflict with law would be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
