17-year old girl commits suicide in Hyderabad

A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her house in Alwal on Friday. The police said that the girl resorted to the extreme step unable to bear harassment by three eve-teasers.

The girl, Gowthami, daughter of



auto-rickshaw driver Balaraju, was pursuing Intermediate. Three others persons – Vijay, Nani and Gani – also auto-rickshaw drivers, bore grudge against Balaraju for some petty reasons and used to tease Gowthami often.Despite warnings from Balaraju not to tease his daughter, the trio continued to harass her. When it became unbearable, the girl ended her life, said the Alwal police.
