A 22-year-old girl was gang-raped by her boyfriend and his two friends in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa on Saturday.

According to the police, the 22-year-old survivor was in a relationship with the main accused Sachin, who is a resident of Khaungawada area in Khandwa.

On Saturday evening Sachin took out the girl for a bike ride and then took her to the forest near the Rustampur road area.

"The accused had promised to marry the victim but on Saturday she was shocked when two of Sachin's friends also reached the spot and took turns to rape her," police said.

The other two have been identified as Sandip and Shubham, both residents of Khandwa.

The accused allowed



the girl to leave for her home after threatening her of dire consequences.

The victim did not disclose anything till Monday but broke down after her parents persisted to know what had gone wrong with her. The parents approached the police after she disclosed her ordeal to them following which a medical examination was done and a case of gangrape was registered against the three accused.

"A case under sections 366, 376, 376 D and 506 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against all the three accused, who have been arrested," Panghana police station incharge Radhe Shayam Malviya said while talking to India Today.

The accused would be produced in court tomorrow and police are likely to seek their custody.
