Hyderabad: G. Prudhvi Goud, a 25-year-old engineering graduate, was murdered when he was trying to save his elder sister G. Sanghavi, a homoeopath, from an alleged stalker identified as Shiva in LB Nagar late on Sunday evening.
The stabbing damaged Prudhvi’s lungs and died on the spot, while Sanghavi, who also received multiple knife injuries, was said to be out of danger.
On Sunday evening, when the siblings hailing from Kondurg in Rangareddy district, were in their rented flat on the first floor of a building in RTC Colony under LB Nagar police limits, Shiva, also from Kondurg, barged into the flat and had an argument
with Sanghavi.
As the quarrel heated up, he picked up a kitchen knife. Sanghavi ran in and locked up herself in the bedroom and raised an alarm. Prudhvi rushed to her rescue. Shiva stabbed him in the chest, following which he ran out for help.
Sanghavi came out of the room and Shiva stabbed her. Prudhvi ran onto the road and collapsed, while the locals caught Shiva and handed him over to the police.
LB Nagar DCP B. Sai Sree said that a case has been registered and the accused has also been detained. A detailed probe is underway, she said.
