South Zone police conducted `operation chabutra' to control mischief mongers loitering aimlessly on the roads during the late night hours. During the special operation conducted across the old city , police apprehended 291 youngsters and counselled them in the presence of their family members.
Cops conducted the `operation chabutra' at Fateh Darwaza, Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma, Jahanuma, Sulthanshahi, Chatrinaka, Reinbazar and Moghalpura areas of old city during the late night hours (1 am to 3 am) on Tuesday . “Locals have requested us to control the nuisance caused by youngsters who are sitting idly on the chabutras and teasing or harassing the passersby ,“ South Zone DCP V Satyanarayana said.
Police picked up 291youngsters roaming on the streets and sitting on chabutras
of old city without any purpose. Among them, 15 people were caught for driving in a rash manner.Among the 291 youngsters, police identified 37 people as repeated violators and registered cases against them. They were produced before the local court.Cops collected finger prints of all the 291 youngsters and identified 19 old offenders. “We are verifying their recent activities,“ police said.
Police also caught hold two groups indulging in a clash. As few members of the groups were video recording the activity in a cell phone, police seized the evidence and produced them before the court.
Family members of all the 291 youngsters were called for a counselling at a function hall where the youngsters were counselled in the presence of their elders in the morning.
