35-year-old woman commits suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A call centre employee committed suicide by hanging at her house at Trimulgherry on Thursday morning, the police said.

Twenty-five-year-old Priyanka was married to Binny Andrew three months ago after she fell in love with him. A few weeks later, her in-laws and husband reportedly started harassing her. The in-laws used to humiliate her stating that she was not beautiful compared to one of their family members, the police said.

Priyanka also came to know that Andrew was speaking to his former girlfriend. When she enquired about it,



Andrew picked up an argument with her. Even as she was trying to pacify him, Andrew allegedly beat her up.

Fed up with her husband and in-laws attitude, Priyanka ended her life by hanging. The incident came to light when she failed to respond to Andrew’s calls after he repeatedly knocked the door. With the help of watchman, Andrew broke open the door and found her hanging, the police said.

Trimulgherry Inspector K. Ravi Kumar said Priyanka committed suicide due to the harassment by her husband and in-laws.
