4 men accused of gangraping 16-year-old girl in Goregaon

Mumbai: Four men allegedly gangraped a 16-year-old girl in Goregaon, Mumbai. Police said four men were involved in the rape and two others abetted the crime. Police also said that the six boys from Santosh Nagar area had threatened the girl with a broken beer bottle and then raped.

The victim alleged that she had gone to the accused's house for a puja and on the pretext of dropping her home the accused took her to a secluded place and gangraped her.

Shocked, the girl kept quiet till Sunday and later narrated the ordeal



to her grandmother.Subsequently, the girl along with her grandmother went to Dindoshi Police Station where an FIR was registered yesterday.Sensing that the girl would approach police, all six accused escaped the area, police said, adding that several teams have been formed to nab the six.

Police said five of the six accused have criminal records.On Sunday, the girl, who is an eighth class drop-out, was sent to Bhagwati Hospital where she underwent medical examination and the report will be ready soon, police said.
