Hyderabad: Jeedimetla police of Cyberabad arrested a 42-year-old man accused of raping his 18-year-old daughter on multiple occasions during the past few months. Her friend, 22, from whom the girl sought help, was arrested for raping her on the pretext of helping her.
The victim was sent for medical examination and counselling.
According to police, the girl’s family migrated to the city and made a living by working as daily labourers. The girl was initially studying in a school in Jeedimetla, but dropped out during the Covid pandemic and remained at home since then.
Taking advantage of this, her father forced himself on
multiple times, in the absence of her mother.
She confided in her friend, whom she met over a social media site. Assuring help, he called her to his place. When she met him, he took her to a hotel in the guise of providing her accommodation till an alternative arrangement is made and raped her for a couple of days.
The girl escaped from the hotel, returned to her parents and detailed her ordeal to her mother, who lodged a complaint with the police. It is also alleged that the girl’s relatives were aware of the girl being sexually assaulted by her father. Police said they are verifying the claims.
