54 held for eve teasing in Hyderabad

Rachakonda police apprehended 54, including 15 minors, during the past three weeks for eve-teasing and counselled them.SHE Teams cops of Rachakonda booked 33 cases against eveteasers.

All the offenders attended counselling sessions conducted by SHE Teams at the Rachakonda commissioner's camp office at Nagole. “Adult offenders were counselled in the presence of their family members and juveniles were counselled by a professional psychologist to change their deviant behaviour,“ Rachakonda police said.

One of the offenders, Manish, an event organiser, was booked for stalking and harassing a 31-year-old TV artiste from Boduppal. Unable to put up with the harassment,



the victim resigned from her job. Based on her complaint, police arrested Manish and sent him to judicial remand.

Police also nabbed 28-yearold B Mohan for harassing a 23-year-old private employee from Dilsukhnagar, B Naresh Goud of Nagole for sending abusive messages to 25-yearold housewife from LB Nagar and G Rajesh, 23 of Shamirpet for blackmailing and sending abusive messages to his 23-year-old friend from Nacharam.

Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat appealed to all the women and girls to report to SHE Teams if they faced any kind of harassment by either dialling 100 or sending a WhatsApp message to 9490617111.
