7-year-old Girl Found Dead in Tamil Nadu, Sexual Assault Suspected; 2 Persons Detained

A seven-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu's Pudukottai district, who went missing on June 30, was found dead a day later.

Police sources state they speculate it to be an instance of rape. 

The young lady was playing close to her home and disappeared on Tuesday after which her family held up a grievance with the police. In the interim, relatives and neighbors were likewise



wildly looking for the minor. 

The young lady's body was found almost a water body in the region and her face bore various wounds.

The police suspect she was sexually assaulted and then murdered. Two people, including a 25-year-old youth, have been detained so far and an investigation is underway.

The autopsy report is awaited to know the cause of death.
