A man attacked his wife with a knife and later stabbed himself with it on Tuesday night at Banjara Hills.
According to the police, the man, Manaiah, a native of Vikarabad, had come to the city in search of his wife Sattama, who had left home after a quarrel with him and was staying with her relative Kalavathi at Mithila Nagar in Banjara Hills. On knowing that her husband was in town, Sattama left the house on
Tuesday morning and returned in the evening. Manaiah, who could not meet her in the morning, also returned in the evening, and on seeing her, picked up an argument with her.
“He then attacked her with a knife, injuring her seriously and then stabbed himself in the stomach in a bid to end his life,” Banjara Hills Inspector P Shiva Chandra said. The police shifted both to hospital and registered a case.
