A 40-year-old woman techie from Andhra Pradesh and her seven-year-old son were found dead under mysterious circumstances in their Burlington residence in New Jersey on Thursday evening.
M Hanumantha Rao, also a techie and husband of Narra Sasikala, told police that he found his wife and son Anish Sai dead when he returned from work.Hanumantha’s father M Subba Rao, hailing from Parchur mandal in Prakasam district, said Sasikala was working from home and had picked up her son from school on Thursday afternoon.
The couple, who got married 14 years ago, have been living in the US for the past nine years. “There was no problem in their marriage,” Subba told reporters, adding, “My son had been in
touch with me nearly every day.”However, Sasikala’s parents, said to be in shock, held Hanumantha responsible for the deaths. “My son-in-law called us at 6 am today (Friday) and broke the news about my daughter and grandson,” Sasikala’s father Venkateswara Rao said.
Ruling out a racial angle, Venkateswara said, “Hanumantha Rao had affairs with many women and he is responsible for the killings.”Parchur MLA Y Sambasiva Rao approached the Telugu Association of North America and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu with requests for assistance.
“I asked the chief minister to approach the external affairs ministry to help bring the bodies home,” Sambasiva said.
