Auto driver held for raping minor

Hyderabad: A 50-year-old auto driver was arrested by the Kamatipura police on Thursday on charges of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in his house on June 10. According to the police, the victim was on her way to a nearby store. She was stopped by the accused Mohd Shamsher Khan alias Mohd Azim Khan alias Saddam Hussain (50), resident of Osmanbagh, forcibly took the victim to his house in the neighboring area.

“Shamsher Khan lured the girl by offering biscuits and chocolates. On reaching his house, he took her inside and sexually assaulted her,” said Charminar ACP K Ashok Chakravarthi during a press conference on Thursday. He said that the victim suffered bleeding injuries.

Later, the accused dropped her near the neighbourhood store and threatened her not to disclose the fact to anyone. He then asked her to inform her parents that she met with a road accident, the ACP said. Zaheera Fathima (26), the girl’s mother, took her to Medicare hospital in Doodh Bowli for



treatment.

On the advice of the doctors, the victim was shifted to Osmania General Hospital and then with the help of the police the girl was admitted to Niloufer Hospital for treatment. After five days, the girl was discharged and the medical tests proved that the five-year-old girl was brutally raped by the accused.

Basing on the complaint given by victim’s mother, the police investigated the case thoroughly and arrested the accused on Thursday near Nehru Zoological Park. The vehicle used by the accused for commission of offence was also seized, under section 376 (d) (i) of IPC and section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, the ACP said.

Further, he said that the statement of victim girl was video graphed and recorded by lady police officer of women police station (South Zone), which would be used an evidence. The accused Shamsher was being produced before the court for judicial remand, he added.
