A 12-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by in-charge of a private school here in Musheerabad.
The staffer had on multiple occasions called the boy into his cabin and committed the offence, police said, adding that the incident came to light after the child refused to go to school out of sheer fear.
According to the Musheerabad police, the boy, a Class Seven student in the school where the suspect Raju too works, was first befriended by Raju before he started calling him into his cabin in the absence of other staffers.
“For the last couple of days, he called the child into his cabin, closed the door and sexually assaulted him. He also threatened him not to reveal it to anyone,” police
said.
The incident however came to light after the boy’s father grew suspicious on the boy’s behaviour and questioned him. The father had dropped him at the school on Wednesday, but the boy refused to go in.
On repeatedly asking for the reason, the child disclosed to his father about the ordeal and named the suspect.
Based on the father’s complaint, a case under sections of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was booked and is being probed. Police are also investigating if there were any other children who could have been exploited by Raju.
Sources said Raju was arrested, however, police are yet to confirm it.
