New Delhi: Four men snatched an SUV after holding the driver at gunpoint near Ghazipur on Sunday night. The driver was blindfolded, pinned to the rear seat of the car and dumped near Usmanpur in northeast Delhi. The vehicle belonged to a businessman.
The incident took place late on Sunday night, when the driver, Raj Kumar, was waiting outside a five-star hotel for his employer.
Kumar said that four men knocked on the driver side window of the vehicle and asked him to lower the glass. One of them pulled out a pistol and held
it against his temple.
He was forced into the rear seat by two others who blindfolded him with a cloth. Police said the men drove around east Delhi for some time before dumping the driver. The criminals also took Kumar's mobile phone and some cash before letting him go. He was also threatened in case he raised an alarm.
A case of robbery has been registered based on the driver's statement and the CCTV footage from hotel is being scanned to identify the men. Police are also questioning the driver about the sequence of events.
