Cab driver rapes 16-year-old girl in Hyderabad, arrested

A 16-year-old Class X student was raped by a cab driver who lured her under the pretext of a birthday party in Rein Bazaar on Wednesday. Aslam, who drives for Ola, got acquainted with the girl as they reside in the same locality, police said.

The girl left her house at around 4 pm on Tuesday evening and it was only when she did not return until 10.30 pm that her family started searching for her, said the student’s



mother.

“He wooed her saying it was his birthday, and took her home and tried to misbehave. When she resisted, he dragged and raped her,” said the Rein Bazaar police inspector, P. Anjaneyulu, adding that she was rescued when her parents went to his place looking for her. 

Based on a complaint, a case was booked under relevant Sections of PoCSO and IPC and Aslam was placed under arrest.
