Choreographer arrested for harassing woman in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Cybercrime police on Friday caught a choreographer on charges of harassing a short film actor by creating her fake Instagram account and posting her obscene pictures. The arrested person was identified as N Maniprakash (26), a resident of Kalwakurthy in Nagarkurnool district.

According to the police, the victim happened to act in a short film last year in which Maniprakash had worked as an assistant director. They got acquainted with each other and moved closely. “As part of making the film, the director took some erotic scenes at that time and the suspect



saved the working stills in his mobile phone. A few months later, after the victim started avoiding him, Maniprakash started harassing her,” said an official, adding that he then created a fake Instagram account on the victim’s name and put her picture as the profile picture.

“He then uploaded her film related photos and videos in that fake profile and sent friend requests to various Instagram profiles only to defame her,” the official added. Based on a complaint, the Cybercrime cell booked a case and Maniprakash was identified and nabbed.
