A final year MBBS student Mounika of Secunderabad, who was studying in Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, allegedly committed suicide by hanging on Tuesday.
According to the information, Mounika was daughter of one Subhash Yadav of Old Bowenpally in Secunderabad. She was a Medicine student of 2011 batch. Her college mates said Mounika was nervous as the final year examinations were fast
approaching and hanged herself to a ceiling fan in her hostel room, which was shared by another student. She took the extreme step in the afternoon when all students were busy in classrooms or hospital. She was working as a junior doctor at MGM.
According to her classmates, Mounika was a cool and calm-going girl, who always took studies very seriously. "Maybe she was feeling stressed as the final exams were approaching," some classmates said, adding that Mounika cleared all the exams and did not have any backlogs.
On receipt of the information, the police rushed to the hostel and shifted the body to the MGM hospital for post mortem.
