Couple dies by suicide in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: A young man's parents died by suicide in Gorapalli village in Visakhapatnam on the auspicious day of Varalakshmi Vratam. Their 20-year-old daughter is in a critical condition.

The police said that Santosh Kumar reached home at 11 pm on Thursday and found his parents, K. Satyanarayana, 52, and Surya Kumari, 45, and sister Neelima, 20, in an unconscious state. He rushed them to King George Hospital, where Satyanarayana and Suryakumari died while undergoing treatment. Neelima is still in a critical



condition.

The Pendurthi police said that Satyanarayana was running a kirana shop and had gone into huge debt because of his son's gambling habits. He was unable to bear the pressure from the financers.

Satyanarayana's wife, Suryakumari, called her nephew on Thursday night and informed him that the family was ending their lives. 

The police have registered a case of abetment to suicide and are investigating.
