Doctor arrested for raping women in Hyderabad

A pulmonologist running a clinic in Secunderabad was arrested by police on Saturday night after a 24-year old woman complained against him to the Gopalpuram police. Earlier, he was involved in a similar act about a fortnight ago, where the patient was 59 years old.

According to police, accused B Vijaya Bhaskar, a resident of West Marredpally had opened a clinic recently close to passport office in Secunderabad area with the name Bhaskar’s Chest Clinic after serving for reputed hospitals in the city.However, on Friday and Saturday the police received two separate



complaints from women alleging rape. 

The first complaint of rape was received on Friday by a woman working with an IT company after she approached the doctor with respiratory problems, while the 59-year old who faced similar behaviour from the doctor about 15 days ago, registered a complaint on Saturday. 

“In the investigation room, the doctor tried to take advantage during evening hours,” said sub-inspector of the police station. The police registered the case under sections 376 and 354 of the IPC and sent the accused in remand.
