A driver from Nagarkurnool district has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl from KPHB. The accused kidnapped the girl from Rythu Bazaar in KPHB and sexually assaulted her. Based on the complaint by the girl’s father, the accused, D. Bhaskar, 23, was arrested by the KPHB police.
According to KPHB police, Dasarla Bhaskar was a driver from Lankaram village of Nagarkurnool. When the victim’s family was in Golagundam village in Telkapally mandal, Bhaskar had reportedly lured the girl on the pretext of love and was
moving very closely with her.
On learning this, the family moved from Golagundam to Hyderabad and was living at KPHB.
The girl’s father M. Shankaraiah was working as a lorry driver to feed his family.
KPHB police said that the accused Bhaskar was booked under sections 366 A and 376 (2) of IPC, and sections 3 and 4 of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
He was remanded to judicial custody on Tuesday.
