Fake godman arrested in the Old City of Hyderabad

The south zone police, during a cordon and search operation, late on Sunday night raided a residence in Chatrinaka and apprehended a quack who was on a hunt for treasure.

A team of cops headed by the deputy commissioner of police V Satyanarayana raided a residence in Chatrinaka where a self-styled godman, identified, as Shaik Sameer, a resident of Towli Chowki with an intention to cheat Raheem Sultan, a mechanic, allegedly dug a 20 feet deep trench in his



house.

The godman made Sultan believe that that there was treasure under his house and convinced him to dig a trench.Police immediately took him into custody and confiscated material that he was using for black magic.

The fake Baba and Sameer allegedly negotiated the deal and settled for 2 lakhs for the treasure. Sameer allegedly took 10,000 as advance.Cops also arrested two of his associates, identified as Mohammed Zubair and Mohammed Ashwaq.
