Five persons die in road accident in Chittoor

Tirupati: Five persons died in a road accident when the Sumo vehicle in which they were travelling from Kadapa to Chennai, hit a tree at Mamanduru Village in Chittoor District close to Kadapa border on Tuesday night.

Nine persons were travelling in the vehicle to take a flight to Dubai and the



accident took place at about 10.15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Renigunta Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Pitch dark conditions on the road and heavy rain seem to be the cause of the accident as the driver lost control of the vehicle, the police said.
