A six-member gang
including two juvenile boys, who allegedly committed 25 chain snatching
offences in Cyberabad police commissionerate limits, were arrested by the
police on Tuesday. Police said CCTV footage has helped nab them.
Madhapur Deputy
Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vishwa Prasad said in the wake of sudden increase
in the chain snatching offences in Madhapur zone, special teams were formed to
nab the accused.
While the efforts are on, CCTVs footage of chain snatching at
Vasanthnagar on November 11, was collected, and the special team spotted two
accused in the same place and nabbed them.
“When the special team tried to intercept the offenders who were on the bike, they attempted to escape. Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Tirupati and his team reached the spot and chased the offenders and nabbed them,” said Vishwa Prasad.
