Girl commits suicide over lack of toilet at home

Embarrassed to have to go out to attend nature’s call and after failing to convince her parents to build a toilet in the house, a 17-year-old girl committed suicide. The incident took place in Gundala village on Monday. 

Kadaparthi Surekha, 17, daughter of Kadaparthi Sathaiah and Nagamma, was studying Intermediate second year. She has been requesting her parents to construct a



toilet in their home as she was feeling inconvenience to go out for attending nature’s call. 

She was depressed when her parents didn’t take her request seriously. When her parents went out for work, Surekha poured kerosene and set herself ablaze. The local people made an effort to save her, but in vain. Gundala police registered a case and took up investigation.
